Round Mountain is a town in Blanco County, Texas, United States. The population was 181 at the 2010 census. The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Round Mountain has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps. The town is located at 30°2611N 98°2115W (30.436308, 98.354130), along U.S. Route 281. It is 12 miles (19 km) north of Johnson City, the county seat, and 11 miles (18 km) south of Marble Falls. Downtown Austin is 46 miles (74 km) to the east.According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.3 square miles (6.0 km²), all of it land. In the 2020 United States census, there were 101 people, 57 households, and 31 families residing in the town. There were no families living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and none of those over 64. The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 3.06. The median income for a household was $39,500, and the median age for a family was $44,375. For every 100 females age 18 and over,there were 88.6 males. The racial makeup of the town was 87.39% White, 9.01% from other races, and 3.60% from two or more races.

The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. It has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps. The town has a population of 1,788. It was founded in the early 1900s by settlers from the area's early settlers, many of whom came from the region's eastern plains. The current mayor of the town has been in office since the early 1990s. The city has a history of being the site of several major disasters, including the bombing of Fort Hood in 1993 and the shooting of 9/11, which killed more than 100 people in the city's twin cities of Austin and San Marcos. It also has been the location of several oil refineries, one of which is located on the town's outskirts, and has been used as a base for oil drilling since the mid-20th century.
